Our origin story:
Solid Hang Photo was founded on the belief that authenticity is the only thing worth capturing — and that the surest way to find it is to make the whole thing feel less like a photoshoot and more like a really good afternoon.
Adrian Roup's filmmaking roots taught him one thing above all: earn the trust, then get out of the way.
Magic moments are fleeting and a single wrong footstep can killed the magic that lives between the moments you plan for. I don't chase. I create the vibe and get out of the way.
Welcome to SolidHangPhoto — where every frame is generated from time well spent with a Solid Hang.

Shooting with Solid Hang:
Every session should feel like the best kind of afternoon — and every image should look like one too. That means you, in the best light, at the most beautiful locations LA has to offer, while someone cracks terrible jokes until you forget the camera exists entirely.
Because the moment you stop performing for the lens is the moment something real happens. A stolen kiss on a beach. A toddler with absolutely no interest in cooperating. None of it planned. All of it perfect.
That's the shot we're after. Not the posed version of you — the actual you, caught off guard in the best possible way.
Would this mom have traded that moment for an AI-generated version?

Keeping it Real
In a world where anyone can generate a "perfect" headshot with a prompt and a prayer, authenticity has never been more valuable — or more obvious when it's missing.
Rea smiles aren't constructed. Real light isn't computed. Real moments — like this one are what make a face light up — nobody AI prompted this.
A fabricated face might fool a feed, but it won't build real trust with the people who matter.
So when it comes to your biggest moments? No algorithm shows up for that. A real camera. A real location. The real you.
That's what we do.
Who's behind the camera
and why he helps you look your best...

Adrian Roup
An AI headshot tells people two things: you don't believe in the art of a human touch, and you couldn't be bothered. In a world where trust is everything, a fabricated face is the equivalent of a limp handshake. Please don't be that person.
Adrian's ethos is simple: people look best when they're not thinking about how they look. So he shows up, reads the room, and if necessary deploys whatever level of terrible Dad joke humour it takes to get you there.
A South African filmmaker who has shot on sets across continents, Adrian cut his teeth on million-dollar productions before discovering that the most interesting frame is almost always the one nobody planned for. That instinct followed him into photography, where his background in directing and storytelling gives him an edge most photographers simply don't have. He doesn't just see a good shot — he creates the conditions for one.
Adrian's clients include Soho House, UCLA, Providence Health, The XPRIZE Foundation, and Intel. The throughline? Getting real reactions out of real people on camera — whether it's a Fortune 500 executive, a first-time portrait session, or a baby with other ideas.
The results, as his LinkedIn recommendations will tell you, are better than his jokes.
